A busy week for Conwy Borough FC saw our ladies team kick-off their league campaign with a trip to Mochdre whilst the men’s development side and first-team were also in league and cup action respectively.

Mens First-Team:

In difficult conditions at Y Morfa, a ten-man Conwy Borough Swifts side exited the NWCFA Challenge Cup at the hands of CPD Boded.

A young Conwy side battled the driving rain, however, a red card shown to Sam Maddock made the task all the more difficult for the home side who were beaten 2-0 in the end.

Mens Development Team:

The Conwy Borough Swifts Development team made it three wins from three in the development league with a 5-0 victory over CPD Glannau at Y Morfa.

An early goal from Fraser gave the tangerines a 1-0 lead at half-time before further strikes from Roberts, Fraser grabbing his brace, Williams and Siby sealed a comfortable victory on home soil leaving them tied with Kinmel Bay at the top of the table ahead of the pair meeting at Y Morfa this Sunday.

Women:

Conwy Borough Ladies marked the start of their league campaign with a 2-2 draw away at Mochdre on Monday evening.

An early own-goal from the home side gave Conwy a lead after just four minutes, before Andrews doubled the advantage with sixteen minutes on the clock to give the Tangerines a two goal cushion going into the break.

The second-half belonged to the home side as a strike from Lopez was added to by an unfortunate Conwy own-goal, however the girls stood strong to see out a draw and gain their first point of the campaign.
